features and more for the Lenten season. The scriptures for Lent reveal a
theme of Covenant, which focus on God's love and compassion for all humankind.

Steve Bell and Brian McLaren graciously offered a free download of the
song "Kindness" as recorded on Steve's latest album of the same title.
It can be played fairly easily with the lyrics and music sheet included
in this list of resources, and you can also isten and learn.
But on a particular Monday in November, I found myself getting out of bed at 4:30 AM.

This was no ordinary day. On that particular Monday, I was a participant of a Canadian Foodgrains Bank Food Study Tour to Haiti. We got up that early because our group—made up of Foodgrains Bank supporters from across Canada—was leaving the capital city of Port-au-Prince to venture out to the small community of Anous, near Petit Goaves.

Steve Bell Fasts for Change

Steve Bell, a singer, songwriter, story-teller, and friend of the Foodgrains Bank is doing a six-week coffee fast and blogging about his experience.

Each week leading up to World Food Day on October 16th, Steve will post some reflections on food and hunger issues.

Prayers, Hymns, & Litanies for the East Africa Food Crisis Available

An Inter-generational Prayer for the Children of Eastern Africa, a
One third of all food produced is wasted, says a recent report from The
Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). Food is
lost at every stage, from initial production, through the supply chain,
the retail stage, and finally at the household level.

Terence Z. Sibanda is on a one year internship with Canadian Foodgrains
Bank through the International Voluntary Exchange Program. Since
arriving in Canada last fall, he has spoken to over 5000 people about
food security and agriculture in his home country, Zimbabwe.
Interview with Brian McLaren

Heather Plett sat down recently with author Brian McLaren to explore his thoughts on the value of fasting for change in a world in which more than 800 million people are living with hunger.
