Fast for Change ecumenical event for World Food Day at St Matthew's Church in Winnipeg, Oct 16, 6pm

Folks from Winnipeg and beyond are invited to a Fast for Change worship event bringing together people of all denominations to come and break their fast with prayer, song, stories of hope, and a focus on food justice on World Food Day, October 16th, 6pm at St. Matthew’s Church, on Maryland St. and St Matthew’s Avenue 1 block north of Portage Ave. Parking available in the adjacent lot. Kids are welcome! Other World Food Day events include the “Golden Carrot Awards,” held at the Manitoba Legislature, sponsored by the Manitoba Food Charter recognizing local food initiatives, as well as a lunch afterward sponsored by the Manitoba Alternative Food Research Alliance (MAFRA) and afternoon activities to highlight the research on poverty, hunger, and local food initiatives in Manitoba.
