Climate Change & Hunger

Many people who are hungry feel the consequences of climate change in their stomachs.
Climate Change is more than just a fad issue. As we reflect on the present unjust state of the world that will send close to a billion people to bed hungry tonight; it’s difficult not to consider what impact climate change will have on this reality.
There is growing evidence that climate change poses risks to food production in many parts of the world, especially the small-scale farmers in developing countries who make up to 70% of people globally living with food insecurity.
Whether we are farmers or community gardeners, we know that the day to day weather, and the overall shape of a season determines the productivity of what we have planted. As more significant and lasting changes occur to growing seasons around the world, how will the production, trade and sharing of food between countries and communities be affected?
